How do you use the stock tow hook on the Wranglers? What can you tow with it? Any limitations?

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Would like to help a friend move. Told her I have a tow hook in case she wants to get a trailer for her things. But the stock tow hitch just looks like a hook. How do you use it?

Thank you in advance!
Had no idea … thanks G-man!

Those hooks are made to either you pull someone out or get pulled out yourself from a mud hole, ditch Etc. Not for a trailer. They are made for "snap straps" A nylon band made for pulling cars/trucks Etc. You will need a trailer hitch with a ball. Most Wranglers do not use/have these do to the short wheel base but some do for smaller trailers. Good Luck.:-)
